HH56

carbon epoxy

Ocean version

A carbon hull is much stronger, stiffer and lighter than classic polyester. Therefore not only safer, but also more durable. No cracks in the gel coat, no creaking interior. By carbon and epoxy underThe new HH56 is a further development of the Boat of the Year HH55. The design and ergonomics have been further refined, and new technologies have been applied that make sailing more durable, safe and comfortable. The HH56 has a larger salon with consequently room for a steering position in the front. The ship comes in the so-called Ocean version: everything you would want on a boat like this is already on it: she is equipped as standard with a parallel hybrid EcoDrive system, 4.5 kW of solar power, North 3Di sails, watermaker and as standard basically all options, necessary for long trips on the open sea.
Optional helm seats with tiller can be added with electric operation of the sails, for extra sailing feeling. vacuum to process we build indestructible hulls.

Owner / /couple

Although strong resemblance to the HH66, the James Hakes-designed HH56 is really intended for an owner/couple looking for the performance of the HH66, but not the crew that normally accompanies it.

Full Carbon

A carbon hull is much stronger, stiffer and lighter than classic polyester. Therefore not only safer, but also more durable. No cracks in the gel coat, no creaking interior. By processing carbon and epoxy under vacuum, we build you an indestructible hull.

Superior Carbon Epoxy Construction

Carbon is exceptionally strong and light, resulting in faster and more efficient boats. Its low weight improves speed and maneuverability, while its high strength provides durability and resistance to damage. Carbon also makes boats stiffer, allowing them to perform better in challenging conditions with less maintenance.

Epoxy offers excellent adhesion, water resistance and durability. It better protects against osmosis and reduces cracking or tearing under stress. Epoxy strengthens the boat’s structure, makes it lighter and stiffer, and extends its life. Although more expensive than polyester, epoxy provides higher performance and lower maintenance costs over time.

What you see is what you get..

On request, an HH can be built in clearcoat finish. Here the HH66 as an example.

Best kept secret

HH goes to great lengths to make the interior look stylish. Because of the perfectly lacquered finish, no one needs to know that it is largely carbon fiber, keeping the yacht light and even stiffer. Much knowledge and experience has been required to build a yacht that is still creak-free at 15 knots.

Forward steering, the pro's and cons

A forward cockpit offers a better overview for the helmsman or woman. We also think it’s a safety aspect: you have better contact with each other and know where the other person is. There are also disadvantages: it takes up more space in the salon. That’s why we offer the forward option only on models 52 feet and larger. Above 52 feet, it’s a no-brainer.

Eco Drive hybrid propulsion

HH avoid the vulnerability of a standard hybrid drive: here the diesel engine is the generator.

The HH56 has been designed to work with our optional parallel diesel/electric hybrid, a large solar array on the cabin top and hydro-regeneration while sailing.

Our EcoDrive provides all the benefits of an electric boat: silent fume free motoring, instant torque for maneuvering, and hydro-regeneration while sailing; while also providing the reliability of trusty diesel engines as a back up.

For the technology shy, traditional standalone diesel engines with shaft drives are also offered.
