Some yachts take you back in time
When I founded Rossinante many years ago, I specialised in a very particular type of sailing yacht. Not the largest or the fastest boats, but yachts for sailors who valued freedom more than prestige. Yachts of modest dimensions, with shallow draught, excellent sailing qualities and an honest, purposeful design. Boats with which you can explore the Wadden today and cross the North Sea with confidence tomorrow.
In those years, Slotta was a name you came across regularly. Solidly built, thoughtfully designed and surprisingly spacious and seaworthy for her length. She embodied the idea that a good sailing yacht does not need to be large in order to undertake serious voyages.
This Slotta 30 shows exactly why the brand enjoys such a strong reputation. She forms a beautiful bridge between past and present. Although she was built in 2003, she could just as easily have left the yard yesterday. Timeless lines, beautiful teak joinery in excellent condition and, everywhere you look, the clear impression of a yacht that has been maintained with great care. A dry, almost dusty bilge, with keel bolts that look as if they were fitted only yesterday.
Quality is timeless
Beneath the cockpit lies the reliable Volvo Penta MD2020 with saildrive. The hour meter was replaced at some point; the total number of engine hours is estimated at approximately 1,400. In October 2024, the engine received a comprehensive service at Middelzee Motoren, ensuring that the yacht is technically ready for many carefree sailing seasons ahead.
The navigation equipment has also been fully modernised. On board we find a B&G Vulcan 9 chartplotter with Navionics charts, updated for 2026, and a B&G Triton² multifunction display, installed in 2022. A modern and clear setup, suitable for both coastal sailing and longer passages.
The sails are as good as new. The mainsail is by Miedema and features a Maindrop system, dating from 2023. There is also a virtually unused 45 m² blister, a self-tacking jib by The Sail Factory from 2024, and a well-maintained genoa with a renewed UV strip. In short, a complete sail wardrobe.
Significant investment has also been made in the electrical system. The yacht is equipped with three Victron Deep Cycle batteries from 2023 and a Victron inverter/charger. In addition, much of the lighting has been upgraded to LED.
Comfort has not been overlooked either. The Slotta is equipped with Webasto hot-air heating, a compressor cool box, stainless steel freshwater, diesel and holding tanks, a modern Jabsco toilet, and a custom-made winter cover that allows the yacht to be fully covered with the mast standing.
Over the past years, the current owner has consistently chosen preventive maintenance. Work carried out includes:
- Major engine service by Middelzee Motoren (2024)
- New throttle and gearbox cables (2025)
- All seacocks replaced (2025)
- Gas hoses renewed and pressure-tested (2025)
- Stainless steel diesel tank professionally cleaned (2025)
- Stainless steel water tank cleaned (2025)
- New sprayhood by Zeilmakerij Dijkstra (2023)
- Saildrive diaphragm replaced (2020)
- Four new Spinlock rope clutches (2022)
This Slotta 30 is anything but an ordinary yacht. She has been owned by someone who never postponed maintenance, but consistently invested in reliability, safety and the sheer pleasure of sailing. For her next owner, that means one thing above all else: step aboard, cast off the lines and enjoy.
She is lying here in Oostmahorn and is ready for viewing.
