The third generation of 40-footers built by the Allures shipyard. True to the concept: strong where necessary -aluminium hull- and ergonomic and light where possible -the decks- these world sailors are ideal for the ocean as well as shallow tidal area’s. Her retractable daggerboard is safe and allows the ship to beach in water only one metre deep.

Olivier Racoupeau designed a moderate hull with a large carrying capacity. Under water, the hull bends upwards only slowly, which prevents slamming into the waves. An additional advantage is that the hull thus has a fairly large lateral surface area (the surface area under water, seen from the side). As a result, the hull still offers a reasonable amount of resistance to drift even when the daggerboard is up. Useful under sail in shallow water, but also in small harbours with little draught.
